A Word About CLAMP;

    CLAMP is an all female mangaka team consisting of Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi. These four were originally part of a twelve member doujinshi circle called Amarythia in 1989. Former members of CLAMP include Tamayo Akiyama, Soushi Hisagi, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Inoue Yuzuru, Sei Nanao, Shinya Ohmi, and Leeza Sei. Over time, various members of the circle began to drop off until 1990 when there were seven members of the circle remaining (which had by this time changed their official name to CLAMP). As work began on their first major publication, RG Veda, Sei Nanao, Leeza Sei, and Tamayo Akiyama left to pursue other works, leaving the group with its current members.

    Known formerly as Nanase Ohkawa, Apapa Mokona, Mick Nekoi, and Satuski Igarashi (apparently the ladies felt the need to try out new names in August of 2004), this group has become one of the bestselling mangaka circles in Japan, let alone the world. Their works have been translated in several languages as well as found their way into small and big screen adaptations. Specializing in the production of Shojo manga, their current works include XXX-holic, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, and Kobato.

    *There CLAMP's doujin works are also still available, including the Shoten series in which the Sumeragi twins, Sakurazuka Seishirou, Imonoyama Nokoru, Iyjuin Akira and his girlfriend Utako all make their first appearances. These works are generally hard to find and volumes of Shoten in particular tend to go for very high prices.

R A N D O M   T R I V I A;
    Each member of CLAMP has their own personal mascot. For Ohkawa, it's a rabbit, a cat for Mokona, Nekoi has a dog, and Satsuki has a squirrel with glasses.
